I am sure that we will learn more about the sabbats and solstices and equinoxes of the witches calender...

The above link is a fairly decent source for basic info on each of them....


If you follow the hyperlinky things in the link, you can get further info on each of the 8 holidays Smile

2 occur on the Soltices - Summer & Winter - The longest and Shortest days..

2 occur on the equinoxes - Autumn/Fall & Spring - The two days of the year, when night and day are the same length..

the other 4 Occur on the traditional starts to the seasons...

Imbolc - Feb 1
Beltane - May 1
Lammas - Aug 1
Samhain - 31 Oct (at Sundown)




Midsummer - Summer Solstice
Mabon - Equinox (Fall/Autumn)
Midwinter - Winter Solstice
Ostara - Equinox (Spring)

That's ok..

The dates are different in the Southern - Northern hemisphere... To match the different seasons...

I didn't explain the meanings of each date, as Wiki's explanation covered the basics....
